"Lucky enough to get a press pass at last year's Normandy Beach Race, I snuck around the pits trying to capture those moments between races and the interactions of racers.
Capturing a plethora of fantastic images, this made the ideal one for the first drawing in a series of drawings from this amazing event because the photographer in front of me had the event name emblazoned on his overalls. Add in a vintage bike and character-full rider, what's not to love?!
This is a large scale drawing, with an expanse of space around it - it's a bigger than life event at one end of a historic 7 mile stretch of beach, you feel that sense of space even with the 1000s of spectators. It's a statement event, and this a statement piece of art."

HB and 2B pencil on heavyweight archival Atlantis Heritage Drawing paper and fixed to preserve and prevent smudging with Daler-Rowney Colourless fixative.

This drawing itself is approximately 102 x 101 cm. The drawing is framed, the frame is approximately 119 x 118 cm.
