The motorbike's a Triumph Trophy 650, with highly polished chrome pipes photographed in sunshine in a busy location.
Getting the reflections on the chrome just right is part of what gives the pipes their form, making them look three-dimensional, and because the drawing is small, the detail is very fine to give the image its realism. And the heavy black on the paper makes the chrome stand out more.”

HB and 2B pencil on heavyweight Daler-Rowney Cartridge paper and fixed to preserve and prevent smudging with Daler-Rowney Colourless fixative.
