Where Next?
Original graphite drawing by Lou Sprockett:
"Photographed this Triumph Tiger 800 on the day Caroline rode it to Belgium, so the bike’s loaded up for another trip, much like it had been for the 15 months Caroline rode around the world. A dull day, overcast, and time short as Caz had a day’s ride ahead, we took as many photos as we could, trying all angles and moving her crash helmet around the bike. As soon as we dropped down behind the pannier the personality of the bike and the rider just fell into place, and the story of their journey around the world, the reason for the commission, started to come across in the image.
Those stickers, the personalized crash helmet, the hand painted 800, and the prayer flags made for a long landscape drawing that presented challenge after challenge to make all these focal points into a fluid image. It's a bold statement of a motorbike, and rider, with a very personal, and still ongoing story.”
